FedEx Canada has implemented a disbursement charge for all air shipments requiring customs brokerage service. The fee applies when funds for duties and taxes are not provided in advance for FedEx. The disbursement fee will be $7.00 CAD or 2% of duty, tax, and merchandise processing if it equates to an amount greater than $7.00 CAD.
The disbursement fee covers part of FedEx's administrative and financing costs relating to the amounts they pay customs on your behalf. This fee does not include the applicable GST or province tax.
